In addition, Illogic and its
simulation may have major ramifications for artificial intelligence, as it
provides insight into how human "reason" operates in reality. |

Yes, but it's so very TRUE...
you can see this in the oratory skills of most (not all) bandstand prosetylizing Christians. Go to any major college campus - they infect most of them - and listen to their arguements. It's really sad. |

an abridged glossary
not bad. though i prefer the more indepth site i linked earlier
ahhhhh...here's another along the same format. MUCH more readable, understandable and experienced, though with an unfortunate tendency for scary popups.
screw those two. this one rocks!

WARNING! EXTREME LOW RELIABILITY OF THE BELOW CONTENT
Please note that the below author (TallPaul) resides solely on USENET and thus reliability is remarkably low...i just liked the "gestalt" concept. *g*
Paul 'TallPaul' Kneisel (18 Feb 03) wrote: |
How the far right argues: an essay influenced by Mitch Cohen
"Are they really that stupid" asks Mitch Cohen of the Republican propagandists.
No, they're not. To express things more accurately, they do not believe it is a matter of either intelligence or stupidity, but rather of the power of their press to manipulate matters in a fashion first described by George Orwell in "1984" and their power to mobilize other, less clearly identifiable, supporters.
The purpose of the various tales so well outlined by Cohen is not to appeal to adult rationality but rather to engage impressionistic notions of reality. One often does not even remember the specifics of some republican charge made -- and later disproved -- but only a gestalt of the totality of the propaganda onslaught. The purpose of such an approach is not to convince people of Iraqi guilt on the basis of specific evidence, but rather to produce a pan-evidentiary sense of hyper-reality that "Iraq is obviously guilty because the [never specified] evidence against Iraq is overwhelming." |
He went on in another article about Adam Smith's "invisible hand" theory (veryearly 20th century economist at the dawn of the corporations)again, this is low reliability and should be taken with a grain of salt till i track down references and even the relevance of these concepts to reality
Paul 'TallPaul' Kneisel wrote: |
AGAINST CONSPIRACY THEORY:
The progressive movement -- and shades of the old-style conservatives -- have never supported conspiratorialism as a major theory of history; both Karl Marx and Ayn Rand and united around the concept of Adam Smith's "invisible hand" whereby certain impersonal forces compel particular actions that may be quite outside the consciousness of the actors. |
The irony is that searching for references to this Mr.Kneiser leads me to horrible sites that denounce him as a quack, yet when they're not talking about him, like giggling schoolgirls, their site content is about as vapid as a giggling schoolgirl is stereotyped to be...Actually, that's untrue. They come across like paranoid schizophrenics. (nope, more like Art-Fags. you know, the type who sit around drinking cappacino and critiquing anything and everything and let the world slip through their fingers)sad. very. So far it's Paul Kneiser:1 / Detractors (leftist and rightist): 0 lmao check this turd out:

Paul Kneisel, writer for the 'self-styled' "Internet Anti-Fascist" spamzine, is a 'front man' and 'stalking horse' for -- of all people -- Jewish nationalists. |
proof? JezuzH.Christ! Pro-Israeli = Anti-Fascist is like saying WATER IS WET! wtf it should be Pro-USforeignpolicy they should be hating. at least that reduces the bigotry. If fanatical zionists are what ainfo & tallpaul are then they should be treated as hypocrites, but sometimes have you ever heard truer statements via freudian slips from the hypocrites themselves? (aye. that's what i'm talking about) -- And these people call themselves anti-fascists? Heaven forbid these are the pinnacle of the liberal/socialist independent press. (Personally, if someone calls themself a socialist, liberal, zionist or communist i check my wallet. Like anyone's going to claim to be 'bigoted'...that's like wearing a Hitler moustache.)you know, i would rather call people for what they are: Good writers who i seem to connect with, or BSing trolls, or just people who seem to either confuse me or sound confused themselves...*shrug* It's a shame these people can't get over the "omg! j00 r hyp0kr1t!!!11"
CONCLUSION
While evidence suggests that the person i quoted may be hypocritical, i stand behind the usefulness of the content beyond the petty bigoted opinions of what appears to be art-fag trolls jealous of the writing ability and imagination of someone else not like them.
Reliability of the references used in TallPauls quotes is being tracked asap
Damnit. there's alot of crapolla that misquote Adam Smith. *sigh* Okay, i hope i can find a decent "translation" without actually having to READ the source...
DUMB ASS SITE wrote: |
Smith laid the intellectual framework that explained the free market and still holds true today. He is most often recognized for the expression "the invisible hand," which he used to demonstrate how self-interest guides the most efficient use of resources in a nation's economy, with public welfare coming as a by-product. To underscore his laissez-faire convictions, Smith argued that state and personal efforts, to promote social good are ineffectual compared to unbridled market forces. |
DEBUNKING THE MYTH wrote: |
Like most of Capitalist propagand, the line on Adam Smith is a BIG LIE.
Smith was a moral philosopher and his works on "moral sentiments" are almost always left out of the discussion. When one reads what Smith said about the evil outcome of "narrow self-interest" left to run wild and the consequent need for government to assure the happiness of the citizenry, a totally different picture emerges. The central thesis advanced by Smith was utterly contrary to the notion that the "invisible hand" would make self-interest benefiticial to society. Smith was an advocate of "enlightened self-interest," if one wishes to reduce things to simple slogans, an ethic in which the social interest is crucial. |
score card: Tallpaul's reliability +1 (jury's still out on whether he's fanatically zionist; if so, that would just mean i know where his bias is. *g*) |
