I just uploaded an old UMEC logo that I had shurnk months ago.
It makes a good sized sig pic for forums (see below).
It's located at http://umec.oesm.org/sig_pics/Umec_small.gif
(be sure that the U is uppercase when you use the above URL)

edit: For some reason I just thought to give credit to the person who made the origonal image, Bey a former UMEC pilot who was the origonal squad page guy until he seemed to fall of the face of the planet

I would assume you can just use BBcose or HTML as normal...

let's see -->
well, it would work if Tripod let you link to their files wink

Teh big sekrat: how to h4x trip0d! wink

Rename the image file as whatever.txt and use it as you normally would. I.E. a pic I made during a flame war with some stupid internet Neo-Nazi:

You'll notice it's displaying as an image (it's a JPEG), though the name is feel-love.txt. Wallah!

(Betcha thought I was dead, didn't ya?)

you know what's wierd? I tend not to reply to people who i know are just trolling, unless those people have provoked friends of mine to respond.

There's no doubt in my mind that you should have posted a link. please do so. i'd like to laff at whoever you flamed with that picture...

Otherwise take that shit elsewhere...I don't like being teased. (hint: 24hrs and i nuke this sonofabitch thread)

Oh wow, there's misreading a post and then there's misreading a post.

Unfortunately, the thread got nuked because shortly thereafter he (Waffen-SS, 12-year old wannabe Nazi) posted some REALLY sick stuff. I used it again a bit later but I can't seem to find the post. It was just the only small image file on my site that I could think of offhand, so it got used. I put in the background info because it might look kinda wierd if I just used that without an explanation while helping out Hal...

what forum?

(BTW, thx for the nice tip about how to trick tripod, and i'd prefer not be reminded of the guy who slayed a mustache style...But, i didn't "misread" your post - I couldn't care less about the pic, I just don't like being link teased)

And remember...

Nonono... I misread YOUR post at first

It was somewhere on the Day of Defeat forums, I think. I did use it again later against ANOTHER kid named Waffen-SS on the Elend DoD forums after touching it up a bit, so I'm going to try to find that thread now... it started out with me just posting some random pics I made in Photoshop and degenerated into a flame war. The pic that isn't showing up is this one, b/c I've changed hosts since then.

BTW the kid did apologize later ands seems to be a normal if slightly disturbed 12 year old... :/

mmmmm...yeah, i remember being 12. I was a total war junky, and my grandfather was visiting one time and peeped in on me as i was reading yet another war book.

I was yapping away and told him i thought the Stuka (luftwaffe divebomber) was a marvelous peice of tech, and what was his critique?

well, was i in for it. lol. My grandpappy was on the coast of Dunkirk the day the brits retreated over the channel. He said Stukas strafed them on the beaches.

wooooooooooops

No offense to your Grandpa, but his perception was biased. Sure, I'd hate them too if they were being used like that against my brothers in arms. Kind of like the hatred for Rangers in JG I guess...

But that doesn't mean the plane wasn't a marvel of its time. Again, kinda like the Rangers, I guess.
wink

Heyya MC, I made up a new icon for UMEC. Has a *small* pic of the tows and rangers in it. Got a particular place I can stick it?

*Shaddup the whole lot of ya!*

Fortunately I did this instead of playing, so I didn't loose much time on the rollback! And I didn't know the rollback was comming either...

Ok, my avitar is jpg format 100x100 (thanks to Muffy), the first below is jpg format 250x250, the second below is gif format at 250x250, and the last below is gif format at 50x50

Our profile avatar gallery is empty. i'd like to request submissions so we can have a cool gallery. (please note you can simply cut and paste below URL tags and change your avatar that way, but it would be nice to build an official gallery for convenience)

the pics need to be equal or less than 100*100 (and equal to or less than 10kbtes...which is the limit cause i raised it from 80*80 / 6400bytes. nonnegotiable. sorry)

But, i will perform the shrinking...just gimmie the pic link and i'll go grab it for the avatar galleries.

MadCat: i'll post the pic links for the correct sized avatars in this post...(you can upload them into the gallery for me. plzkthxdrvthru)UMEC's official avatar (burner's)

I must say, I *really* like the new 100x100 size limits for avatars. Let's a person make a better signature, sorta, instead of cluttering up the bottom of their image (should they choose).

I'm free for resizing/shaping/formatting images as well; I'm not as adept as Muffy, nor do I have the image libraries (or inclinations) as he does, but I'm learning. :) Any work thrown my way will eventually get done, if it's within my abilities.

Gonna have to dig through the tutorials and figure out how to make the new smileys into emoticons though

Ok, since Rainy likes green, I've got green:

And I didn't want Hink to feel left out so I made blue:

And then the few Octs we have, I made red:

Hick... um... no. They don't work. If you truly want to be color-conscious, you could color one or more petals of the star with faction colors, but the RGB schemes just... *TWITCH* no. Please stop.

*sigh* Yeah, that was my original thought, Rainy. I'm trying to think of the best way to do that with what I have.

Try this: in the six-petaled star around the central circle, make 2 of each petal blue, green, and red. LEAVE THE CENTER WHITE. You might be able to pull it off that way. Too, don't use such BRIGHT colors. The muted green in the original picture will do well to guide you in seeking a corresponding blue and red.
