At the moment there are no illegal commodities in the game, although Netdevil have said that that is one of the things that they have plans for.

If you aren't high enough level for a piece of equipment, you can have it 'brokered' for you by someone who is a higher level. This is 'black market' equipment, and is uninsured. This means that if you crash your ship you won't get any money back for the equipment. This can make a new pilot broke very quickly if they crash a couple of times with brokered equipment.

If you attack a civillian ship in a sector with a space station in it, you will get a bounty. This is known as a temporary, or 'temp' bounty, for reasons I'll explain in a moment. All ships will be able to see this bounty, and the station will launch some defence droids at you. These are AI-controlled ships that are small, fairly fast, and, for a new pilot, very deadly.

This happens if you attack the ship. If you just attack it and don't kill it, then dock, you will suffer no further retaliation from the station (although the other guy might shoot you when you launch ). The temporary bounty will be cleared

If you kill a civilian in regulated space, then your political rating with the faction of the pilot you killed will go down to -15 or less. This means that any pilots of that faction will see a bounty on your head. If you have a bounty, they can attack you regardless of whether they are Civilian or Honour Guard
