I played MOO2 since it was a measly substitute for Stars! - possibly the best turnbased strategy game ever. I'm still waiting for Stars! Supernova, but it seems like no publisher wants to touch it... :( |

I played MOO like crazy in the Navy. Mustof taken over the galaxy 50 times, and I liked the MASSIVE universe games. Good memories and I'm sure I'll buy MOO3. |

Stars! ruled. Looked like a spreadsheet, but amazingly good fun. The manual was impressively sized, too :P |

I went to Best Buy to get a copy of MW4: Merc, and they had the MOO3 "assistance manual" already on the shelves. Sad that a manual beats the game out (and makes me really wonder how accurate it is). |

Anyone remember Ascendency? That was a damn fine game. Definitely preferred it to MOO. |

i just aquired a "demo" of moo3 ... the graphic is so crappy, i mean is it optimezed for 640x480 pixels?
it seems there it quite some depth in controling planets and those taskforces, but i couldnt find how to change a taskforce i.e. how to split a taskforce of 2 scouts into 2 .... and that help-screens they tell whats obvious but what would be interesting is left out ... ok, i dont have a manual maybe there is explained what all those specials for planets mean ...
the whole thing just looks like its a old game ...
... i just did "rm Master_of_Orion_3_*" ... _________________ me-777

Hoseley said the big problem is that there has to be a clear link to causality that has to be apparent to the player - they need to know why something is happening. "If there isn't a good explanation, players will assume it is a bug, even if the procedure to get there was proper." |
lmao yeah, and what the fanbois call a feature! |
