|
|
The go has been given for supporting Aman with Nukes. If everyone is willing, we will build and deliver 1000 Nuclear Weapons to Aman. 8) I have delivered the first load of 125 (currently about 650 on station).
Here's the plan:
Make nukes at the custom producer at either Quant Core or Oct Outpost. I believe the Stith/Diluted Reaches/Dark Gateway path to be the fastest and safest. Nukes require: Conflux Biomass, Electronics, Fuel Cells and Synth.
Haul nukes to Aman. Aman has 500+ of all materials for nukes, so you can haul back what you need (or everything).
Please report on this thread what you built and hauled. If you built some nukes, but didn't have time to haul, someone else can pick em up for you.
Please comment if you think we should make this a continuous support project, 1000+ Nuke stock at Aman.
So:
Oct 7
Made 125 Mauls
Hauled 125 Mauls to Aman
Total Hauled in: 125 |

*******UMEC TO STOCK AMAN STATION WITH NUKES****
021007 2200 Ekoo Standard Time
Last Friday Aman station was completely depleted of nuclear weapons during a large Sentient Conflux and Infestation attack. In order to support the war against the Conflux and TRI economic interests, UMEC will immediately produce and ship to Aman 1000 nuclear weapons. UMEC will continue to support Aman nuclear weapon stocks as an ongoing squad program. Any questions regarding this annoucement may be addressed here, or to any senior UMEC pilot.
Thank You

Made 125 Mauls
Hauled 125 Mauls
Total UMEC delivered 350 Nukes
PS OP was out of synth. I picked up 500 sili from EE and there's still 4500 units there if more is required at OP. Take a cargo mission to EE, then haul back sili for great exp turnaround. |

Took enough synth and bio-mass to QC to make 500. Made 375 but didn't have time to transport them to Aman. So if anyone stops by QC feel free to move some of them over there.
Also, a warning on the pilot Marine for those of us who are quant. As I jumped into QC i recieved a message, "Prepare to die for the actions of Quantar pilots" Then in F4 "are you artied?" I replied no, but that i had Synth for nukes. a minute later he told me to go ahead and dock. Marine is unsquaded now and as you probably know kos for most Quant squads. So he probably feels he has nothing to lose by attacking anyone he sees. Really didn't expect him to let me go, but i guess he does have limits on himself. Just a caution folks. |

8_Ball, thanks for all the work mate!:D
I actually said (Hides behind arms) that we'd build and deliver 1000 nukes initially. I realize Aman stocks are over 1000 now, but I figured it would give a cushion in case of another 500 nukes shot weekend. I'll work it hard tomorrow morning, might get it up to the number myself. With your 250 our total is now
750 Nukes built
600 Delivered to Aman |

OK, 8_ball did a hell of a lot of work and delivered 375 more nukes this morning. I joined him on his last run with 125 myself. That makes a grand total of 1100 Nukes produced and delivered 8) . Thanks a ton for supporting some squad RP, and we got some nice comments on my press release. If you want to check em out, it's in the Squad Silo of the ND forums.
Now we get Prag his Nuke Medals :o |

Yesterday 575 Nukes were used or destroyed in a Sent attack on Aman. Here's some posts I recieved from JOSSH when I asked about it:
Calesh-
The nukes have been dissapearing during the conflux attacks. Dr.Q will have the correct numbers but when the Sent's attacked last night I think we lost close to 500. The infestations were not that strong and did not require many nukes to destroy so I do not think that many were lost during the clearing stage.
ZeroZ95-
can confirm that Conflux Sents are indeed destroying nukes at stations by firing on the stations. We also believe they destroyed over 400 biomass from Aman the other night and 75 nukes from OP as well.
575 was my best count of nukes destroyed in last night's Aman attack. Read all about it at www.confluxwar.net
New Dawn mantains a tow full of nukes parked at Amananth for emergencies. Talk to any =Huntmaster= or Fleet Command member should an emergency arise.
Z
So now the question is do we want to keep supporting Aman? It's obvious the place needs support and ND appears to be bringing in Purgs. I personally am game. I know :shot: shoot me!
As for exp, you could take a cargo mission from Aman to LL (117 exp/unit). Pick up Nuke materials from LL, usually everything you need is there. Stop at OP, make the nukes, then head South to Aman.
Well, what do you think?? :-o |

Very Cool comment from Rainshadow:
Quote: |
Both nukes and biomass can and will be destroyed if a sentient Krak fires on a station. We saw nukes taken at Aman a couple of times, and OP once. Biomass was hit once at Amananth.
The saving grace in last night's attack on Aman was UMEC's efforts. 1600 nukes is an obscenely huge number... Loved seeing it . The only reason we have any on the market there at all was UMEC's massive efforts. Sure, you can try and stop them before they reach a station, but that can't be the only defense. Those buggers are fast enough to travel at will, even with a fleet hot on their tail. And it does not take a lot of time for them to do this damage. |

Well to tell ya the truth, my 1st reaction is to be extremely pissed off. 575 nukes destroyed by a sent firing at the outside of the station? Come on. If flux gunfire can destroy flux cellular matter through a stations walls then wouldn't they damage themselves and any other flux in the area every time they fired their guns? If this is part of a GM driven money sink it makes no sense because there is little loss in making them, only in using them. Took me 10-12 hours to gather the commods, make and deliver 625 of them and 575 are immediately wiped out. Pffft.. Now I'm perfectly willing to continue to do this but, I'll not let it become a massive time sink that completely wastes my online time.

Well aye...
I guess what I meant was that the response from the Jump Gate community seemed rather positive... Things like this could help recapture UMEC's magic perhaps?
But I read that thread discussing the destruction of the Nukes at Aman, and I agree with you... Destroying them is an interesting bit of RP, but in such large numbers... Rather discouraging. :headbang:
Going to work on this more as soon as I can... just a bit busy in RL at the moment. |

Though, personally, i think that anti-nuke raid was sooooooooooo cheesy. Between us folks, you know why i quit: Themis politiking. So it's pretty much a nobrainer to figure i consider Savant & Arch0n to be felchers |

Delivered 125 last night, inventory is over 1000. 8 if you'd like to take a break I can cover the next 500 or so, you've done a ton of work on this project :morn: . I'll just take exp runs to LL and haul nukes back. |

Thanks Bagger, made another 250 at QC this morning. Left them there. Moved some biomass and synth around and did enough unreg runs to level to 48 later on this evening. We seem to be getting some good press out of this cause I have been offered escorts twice today unasked for. The second one, Lady-Light, an IPG pilot escorted me from op to EE then to core. Another Oct with Privateer squad tags jumped into gurge with us and immediately she macro'd, "This area secured by Lady-Light state your intentions or die" Damn near spit coke on my monitor. IIRC I'm at 1375 made and 1125 delivered now. Starting to be almost fun. ;) |

If I've counted right we're now at 1975 nukes made. Will no longer make a delivered distinction. I guess if we make them, they're delivered somewhere. If anyone who hasn't posted made some, add them to the count. |

Wow 8, great job. UMEC may be smaller then before, but we still have some punch left! Qweebo posted on the old thread that he made 125 today, and I made 250 at the beginning of this project that I left at Wake, so that makes our total 2350. Not bad at all! :D
I will plan on writing another press release at 5000 produced. There is zero pressure on us but if you make em feel free to tell anyone who listens. Wish I could get escorted like 8_Ball |

Howdy folks, welcome to Crazy8's nuke market. He's wild, :-o he's weird, :o He's insane, :P and he smells funny :wig: (step back son, he may be dangerous)
Logged on this morning and nuke stock seemed to be adequate at most stations. There were plenty of commods at QC so I decided to try speed production. Made 1000 more nukes in an hour and 15 mins. Qweebo came in with a load of synth just as i used the last at the station. He made 125 more and took them to SDS. I went to EE and got another load of synth so station stocks are still ok.
New total 3975 if I'm counting right. Damn we're good. |
