Well since Gossip doesn't understand copywrite laws he has demanded your logo removed (as I just noticed). Which you did not HAVE to do mind you. I told Muffy about this awhile ago, but never got around to posting about it.

Actually Gossip is right, the original image was his (PJGs) property, cutting part of it out and adding the text does not nullify that copyright. If we had asked permission the only requirment would have been an acknowlagement of his work on any page that displayed the image.

It's the same copyright law that prevents you from using a portion of a written work as your own, even with modifications, without credit to the original author.

Writing something gives you a legal copyright.

Drawing something gives you a legal copyright.

Registering it gives you a registered, legal copyright.

Anything I write including this statment is a legal copyright. Just like anything you write is legaly copyrighted. People register copyrights only if they intend to profit off of thier work.

The same is true of music, drawings, or other art work.
